  • Are you feeling overwhelmed by the events that are unfolding?

  • Have current events evoked feelings relating to Jewish history or the past for you?

We are offering an open space to explore these questions in a group across 6 weeks.

Join us for 6 weekly sessions.

Angels of History makes space for Jewish people to connect and have dialogue about the most pressing issues that impact us now.

What does it mean to be Jewish now?

Being Jewish at this moment presents challenges and complexity. Conversations about our Jewishness especially post Oct 7th and in relation to antisemitism, Israel, Palestine and Zionism can be hard to have and are often polarised. There can be rifts in families and difficult conversations between partners and friends. Often there is silence too in workplaces and organisations which compounds feelings of isolation. There is a tendency not to put the difficult issues on the table.

We have heard from many of you that you need space to reflect, connect and look towards a better future together as Jews and people with Jewish ancestry. We invite you to join us in a series of autumn sessions to plant seeds of dialogue.

“Angels of History allowed me to connect deeply with my own Judaism and that of others whose experience was very different to my own. I delighted in attending this group and I relished the opportunity to heal in a community and I have been changed (in a good way!) as a consequence of my participation”

What will we do together?

Sharing and listening - We will gather together and hear each other’s personal stories and reflections in an open and non-judgmental way supported by experienced facilitators.

Exercises and tools - We also will offer simple tools and use creative methods to support you to have better conversations and feel more confident in your interactions with others when it comes to how you express your Jewishness.

Who is this for?

We welcome people with the full diversity of Jewish backgrounds and identities. We also welcome people to self-select as Jews or those with Jewish ancestry.

We run our groups with an awareness of the different histories of Askenazi and Sephardi Jews and have lived experience of both groups in the team.

It is critical to our work that we create a safe space for different Jewish perspectives to be expressed and heard. We welcome people from across the political and religious spectrum and are keen to bring a range of views and perspectives into our sessions. We want our sessions to be spaces where people can communicate courageously from different perspectives.
